Meet the founders, Rosie + Helly

We're a little obsessed with words- here are a few to explain why. 

37 years ago our mums met at an NCT class and their friendship grew into a lifelong one - they still hang out on the reg now. In turn, our friendship grew over many happy years playing with Sylvanians, going on caravan holidays and long Easter walks, having sleep overs and making up dance routines. At the age of 7 we became pen-pals, beginning a long and fruitful letter based relationship, We shared stories of new classmates, adventures at the Friday night disco swim, what our pets had been up to and a little later, our biggest boy crushes. Words became our sacred way of keeping our friendship alive.

Serendipitously we both studied English at the same University, and were able to keep our special friendship rolling into our twenties. The rest they say is history: raucous girly trips, wild house parties and lots of cheap supermarket wine turned into after work drinks in London pretending to be grown ups, festival fun and a lot of fancy dress. Rosie jetted off to Argentina to mend a broken heart and Helly got married to her long term boyfriend. Soon after the South America travels were done, there was another wedding to plan and then the 'In This Together' generation started to arrive…

In early motherhood we spent a fabulous and exhausting 4 years with 4 babies missioning around London  to see each other. Our words of support for each other took the form of a carefully crafted text, cheerful card in the post or simply a quick what’s app, getting us through the crazy days and hazy nights. Slowly but surely our handwritten notes of ‘HANG IN THERE YOU’RE DOING GREAT!’ became little lifelines to each other. These words saved us time and time again. 

We love our babies, we love words and we love female friendship and support. We are proud to welcome you to in this together.
